Cooper's Hawk (Accipiter cooperi). Forests.

A happy hawk is a well-fed hawk. This Cooper's Hawk recently captured and ate its last prey and its crop is full. Most likely, its last prey was a bird about the size of a Steller's Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri) based on the size of the crop. Medium-sized birds are the typical prey of Cooper's Hawk which it attacks with a low flight through the forest, using tree branches and shrubs to hide its approach. At the last moment the hawk attacks with wings back and talons extended. As the prey is hit, the talons automatically close as the legs bend on impact and then the talons are opened and closed as the prey is grasped and killed.
